Hold down WINDOWS key , press E button. (Explore)
RIGHT CLICK my computer , click properties.
Look for Device Manager CLICK,
Poke around there, it's prob. under display adapters.

These systems usually come in 2 flavors, Base models (like mine) no Bluetooth , broadcom, 3cell batt. OR fully loaded. 6 cell etc.

I'm Super Dupa' happy with my base model. I'm in love with it after updating to Win7 Ultimate!

A Dell "Service Tag" identifies a Dell computer.

On a laptop, the "Service Tag" should be on a sticker on the bottom. It's also listed in the BIOS, and is also accessible via other software. Plugging the "Service Tag" into the "Support" part of Dell's website should list the configuration as shipped from Dell.

Default aftermarket broadcom crystal accelerator - 11-23-2010, 12:40 PM

Is it possible to buy/install the accelerator after the fact? If so, who sells them?

If you didn't get the card installed by the factory, I think the slot for the accelerator might be missing. So, it's not easy to add where it's "supposed" to go.

But I think a half-height Broadcom Crystal card would work in the WiFi slot. You'd lose your integrated WiFi, so you'd need to use a USB WiFi adapter or something if you want WiFi.

As for where to buy, eBay might be the best source. Try searching for "bcm970015" or "bcm70015". Many seem to be a half-height version, but with a optional bracket to enable it to fit in a full-height slot.

I added the card today, but I have the PCI adapters on my board. No problems.
