hey everyone,
I just received my mini 9 yesterday, and I love it. as I was looking it over, I noticed a port behind the battery. Too small for sd what is this and what can I do with it?

it's a port for a SIM card, and is used on the versions of the mini that have 3g cellular modems built in. on yours, there's none of the supporting parts behind the hole, so there's nothing you can do with it.

SIM Card slot, I'm guessing you have the UK version?

all the minis that don't come with cellular wireless from the factory are missing these parts.

I guessed it didnt work by the foam covering the inside of the hole...

i have purchased a Dell mini direct from dell (got it cheap through my account manager) and i'm just hunting for a way to use internal 3g now, possibly dissect my vodafone USB modem and find a way of mounting it.

I confirm the slot is empty, and useless, as there are no ariels or card slots for the actualy 3g hardware, the vodafone model includes these but for £25 a month for 24 months, itsa rip off.

Worth it if you dont wanna shell out up front for a dell mini, like I did at the time.
