Okay, I got my retail version of SL.

I follow all the instructions, and get the dreaded:

"Mac OS X cannot be installed on this computer" message.

Any tips?

Ok, so I go it working. I had erroneously restored the install DVD from the USB to the hard drive in the 10v. This was an artifact of when I had tried a previous install.

Unfortunately, if you do this, there is no way to remove that partition from OS X. Unless you can make another bootable USB stick with a tool to kill the partition, you are SOL.

Fortunately, I was able to make one with ultimate boot cd on it, and whacked the mac os x partition on the hard drive.

Then I followed the guide, and it went pretty smoothly.
I used NBM and NBI 0.83 alpha.

Now I am Mac OS X 10.6.2, and all is good.

Pretty darn slick. I still have the audio pop after resume, which is anonoying, and I wish the trackad was better.
But all in all, for $300, it is great.
