Default Trim Support Enabler 1.1 ...Anyone tried it? - 04-25-2011, 12:34 AM

I was wondering if anyone had tried running this program in their ssd equipped mini yet. It's got pretty good reviews since the 1.1 release, I'm just wondering if it will mess up our boot....here's a link.

I used it on my wife's MacBook Air, and my desktop hackintosh that has a Kingston SSD, it worked on both of them. Haven't tried with the Mini9 yet, I'm a little leary as this is a PATA SSD, rather than SATA, and this utility is meant to tweak the SATA driver..

Good to know, thanks for the input. i'm using a sata connected ssd so I might give it a try. So did you have to back everything up before you ran the program?

As far as using it on a regular mini 9 SSD, seems it's a no go.-

underwhelmed...
Did your mini 9 even boot after you ran the patch? I'm not really that surprised since it's meant for sata and mini 9 is pata.

I see, well I ran it just out of shear curiosity. I can't say it did anything! No support for trim support showing in system profiler. But I'm not running current FW on my OCZ ssd due to it being a pita, so this might be why.

Oh well, guess It was worth a try.

Most Mini 9 SSDs do not support TRIM.

Do you mean the original 16gb STEC PATA SSD's we have? So it could work on a Runcore SSD with TRIM support, even if it was PATA too?

Everything Everywhere.
