Default Gauging interest in some color/material options - 04-30-2009, 06:21 PM

Just stopped by my favorite local materials supplier and found these two gems that I am really fond of. I had them cut me samples so I could post them here to gauge interest on whether I should buy some...

Kinda blurry, I know. They are both the same as the Spectra Diamond laminated ripstop I have on the "Specialty Materials" page on my store. Super high durability with an interesting diamond pattern in the spectra fiber ritpstop threads. It's a three layer material, a high density nylon shell, the spectra fiber layer and then a waterproof/breathable backing.

I particularly like the lime green as the shell also has a 1/8" ripstop weave so you get some really cool textures going on! The other is a charcoal grey (versus the black I already have) as a color option for those that think black is too square.

Feedback is appreciated!!!

I also really like the lime green. I'd order one immediately if it became available! As a matter of fact, feel free to PM me if you decide to go ahead with it.

I'd order a lime green sleeve for sure. But on that custom order, I still have my preferences.

I'd go for green with dark grey webbing and highlights, if it can be done

I can get a dark charcoal trim, versus the black trim I normally use. Unfortunately the webbing I use for the pull tabs, handle, shoulderstrap, etc is not available in in a matching color, the closest would be black.

This might be interesting with the foliage green trim though. I'm at work now, but I'll have to look at it when I get home as I hadn't thought of that combo.

I would be purchasing the lime green if you made it available.

i would order a case right now, but i want to hold off a little bit as more fabric and design options become available. but i really like that green, so i would definitely consider it right now if you had that. work looks great!

As an FYI, I'm a form following function sort of person and am pretty discriminating in my materials choices - I will always defer to durability and reliability before style and if I don't feel that a material will fit my personal standards of durability I won't be carrying it.

Well,

I got some of both the Lime Green and the Charcoal this afternoon! I have enough for 3 sleeves with a front pouch in each of the colors. I also found some bright green double sided fleece that's a little darker than the lime green, but a pretty darned decent complimentary match to it.

And just for GreyPaint, I picked up a small amount of charcoal grey trim too!! I have enough of this for about 4-5 sleeves. All of the above is being offered in the Specialty Textiles version only, for now at least. If the trim or fleece gets popular enough, or I have enough requests for it with the corduras I'll look at getting it at better pricing and offering it with them.

Alas though I could not find any grey webbing or thread to compliment the trim. The black thread will be nearly invisible on the charcoal though, and it will look great on the green or grey sleeve!

I'll be holding off a little on the lime green one...but only until my 10v gets here. Still interested though.
