Default upgrade Ram - 07-03-2010, 09:38 PM

There is definitely improvement noticed when you upgrade to 2gb of ram. You will find video plays better! I found my webpages changed faster, less caching. If you can grab a good stick of ram, it is a 5 minute procedure to install! Go to youtube for plenty of videos with step by step instructions. I watched a video uploaded by Crucial Memory. I figured since they sell the ram, I would watch their video on installation. It went smooth!

Have you upgraded the memory on your "Walmart special"? I have one and wanted to see if you have any tips. Thanks.

I just upgraded mine to 2 GB per the specs and have Bios A07, which by the way is not even listed in my Dell as an available upgrade. Anyway I bought this from Newegg and is works fine. After my 2mb upgrade, I mainly notice that Netflix runs much better. Before it was unusable for that purpose. It buffered very slowly and had stops and starts.

Now it takes a couple dozen seconds to buffer and after that, it plays back quite nicely. Great for sitting in airports, etc.
