Thanks, Will do. They arrived yesterday, so I'll try to get to them tomorrow or saturday. one thing is worth mentioning, I was prepared for small cards, but darn these are tiny. This is especially true of the BlueTooth card. The darn thing is smaller than a paperclip.

Yeah but the BT just pushes into a small socket on the lower right of the motherboard and then you screw it down and you're done. It's not to bad.

I've spent half an hour searching the Dell website for the matte LCD screen (part# m875k) and can't find it. Could someone help me out by providing a link please? Thanks in advance!

I'm having the same problem:
I really want a 1366x786 wxga lcd for my 1012,
but I'm in Belgium, Europe, and I haven't found a reasonably priced seller...

Anyone has tips?

Best I have found is around EUR 70 from US, but i'm risking +21% tax and a administrative cost of at least EUR 5, so that will result in EUR 90+ and about a month lead time,
which I find a lot for a 10.1 lcd...

Im debating getting a MINI 1012. Should I get it from dell with the higher resolution screen or is it better to do it aftermarket. I dont mind pulling it apart.

Default Upgrade LCD from 1024x600 to 1366x768 - 09-20-2010, 11:42 PM

Well, if it helps, I just upgraded the LCD to 1366x768 from Bliss Computers. Using the credit card method I replaced the display in about 15 minutes! Only one dead pixel (oh well.) Now, if I could just get 720p YouTube videos to play full screen without choppiness... Still, it is GREAT to have so much screen real estate at my disposal. Thanks everyone for the info.

How small is the native font post new monitor? Microscopic? I know that I can change font size, but larger fonts are so fugly...

OTOH, I use mine to watch some netflix on, the 2gb upgrade helped that a fair bit. I suspect the new screen would be icing.

Dell Inspiron Mini 1012 2mb RAM
Dell Inspiron E1505 - died a noble death
Dell Inspiron 17R - I hammered the kb with fist, killed it.
Motorola Droid X2 - gave to niece who gave it to her 3 year old. crap.
