Mostly around 18 hours - 2.2 seems slightly longer than the earlier versions but you still need to recharge overnight. It varies significantly depending on how much you are using GPS, wifi, etc.

Can get 2 days use out of a single charge. It's a bit like the petrol gauge in my car though indicates lots, lots, lots, None.

Average user (little bit of everything), lasts 2 days. Max 2,5 days. GPS, bluetooth, 3G turned off. Wifi always on.

I get from 6am when its pulled off charge till about 8pm if lucky. Thats using a bit of t'internet, few texts and maybe 15 mins of calls. If I want to use it to listen to music at work I have to take my cable or its dead before I get home.

TBH this is the worst phone for battery life I've ever had and I've been through N80, N95, e90 before this and never had the issues I have with this. I'm thinking of going to see CPW where I got it and asking if they can swap out teh battery in case its that thats faulty.

entwisi, it should be able to manage better than that given your usage.

* Which version are you on? 1.6/2.1/2.2?

* Do you have GPS enabled or disabled?

* Do you have wifi enabled or disabled?

* Do you have wifi notification enabled or disabled?

* Do you allow sync at any time?

* Do you use a live desktop, and if so, which one?

* Do you have any apps running in the background? (including widgets/skype/fring/etc?) (I'd guess that a rogue app is is the most likely problem)

i run wifi all the time i am home and switch to 3g as soon as i step out of the door, i dont use gps that much but play a butt load of games and apps. mine will last a day and a half easy i also keep my screen dim unless im showing it off, which is a lot. i call it the jaw dropper.

i would rate the battery a 8. now if i could just get another power cord for a car charger i would be set and more apt to keep the gps up at all times.

Answers to Qs

stock O2 2.2
GPS disabled
Wifi enabled - not set to notify on open networks
no auto sync defined - 1 manual sync to gmail that I only use when I've added new contacts etc. No email pull defined, only on opening account.
No Live wallpaper ( static image of my own )
I run "advanced Task killer" set to Agressive" every hour.

Brightness set to medium on the screen and I keep the screen off as much as possible.

As mentioned, I'm used to battery heavy phones but this thing seriously can't get me through the day if I want to listen to any music.

It sounds like you're doing all the right things. But ATK can kill too much sometimes - I use it manually rather than on auto. Give it a day or so where you disable ATK's hourly kill and see if it makes any difference (either positive or negative).

I don't really listen to music much so I don't know how much effect that has on the battery lifetime. Anybody with specific experience there?

In theory the headphones you are using *might* make a difference since one may draw more current than the next, but I wouldn't know how much of an effect that would be.

Out of interest, if there is a day when you don't listen to music, what battery % do you have at the end of the day?
