Default Upgrade LCD from 1024x600 to 1366x768 - 03-03-2010, 08:33 PM

I've decided that the Broadcom Crystal HD card isn't worth the upgrade. But, I like the idea of have a 1366x768 display. I found a supplier that sells the 1366x768 display:

Dell M875K LCD Screens, $103 retail price.

Is it possible to install this in the regular 1012? Thanks!

why dont you just wait until Dell offers it....it is supposed to be a future option and I dont think that it is $103 more, I have the 1333x768 display on my 1010, it is a beautiful display but I am sure I didnt pay that much, and I wouldnt take a chance on a 3rd party, mine came from the factory exactly the way I ordered it....much easier and has a warranty..

I just upgraded my 1024x600 screen to the 1366x768 hd screen. It works beautifully! There is so much more screen real estate. I thought about buying the new Broadcom version, but I didn't think it added to video playback. I thought the higher resolution would be great. So, I bought the new screen from Dell. It was $99 + tax. Pricey, but it was worth it to me.

So reyessais, you upgraded using the screen from the 1st post in this thread bought from LCDs 4 Less or you bought a different one directly from Dell as you seem to indicate in your last post ?

I'm in the same situation. Have a 1012 & wouldn't mind spending a little to upgrade the screen. If you bought directly from dell then how did you do it ? Do you have a Dell part number? How do you order the screen ? I did a quick search on Dell's sight but came up empty.

I bought the screen directly from Dell. It was about $6 cheaper and I felt more comfortable getting it from Dell. The part # on the packing slip is RKDY3. Good luck!
