I have a 1012 that came with Windows 7 Starter and we upgraded to WIN 7 ULTIMATE. Over time performance deteriorated to recently it became unusable.
I tried re-installing Win 7 but was not successful. I installed Ubuntu thinking I could then fix. Ubuntu seems to work fine but this is what my boot looks like:
Ubuntu, with Linux 3.0.0-12-generic
Ubuntu, with Linux 3.0.0-12-generic (recovery)
Memory test (memtest86+)
Memory test (memtest86+, serial console 115200)
Windows 7 (loader) (on/dev/sda2)
I ran memory test with positive results. I can not load Win 7. I tried to reinstall Win 7 using the USB Flash drive but I get the following:
"$ unzip COCR2_100.zip
Archive: COCR2_100.zip
End-of-central-directory signature not found. Either this file is not
a zipfile, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part archive. In the
latter case the central directory and zipfile comment will be found on
the last disk(s) of this archive.
note: COCR2_100.zip may be a plain executable, not an archive
unzip: cannot find zipfile directory in one of COCR2_100.zip or
COCR2_100.zip.zip, and cannot find COCR2_100.zip.ZIP, period."
Now I would like to uninstall UBUNTU and reinstall Win 7. CAN ANYONE HELP? PLEASE?
I'm not the brightest bulb in the room so go slow.
