Question Mini 10 battery - 12-10-2011, 07:23 PM

I have a dell mini 1011 (i believe this is what is referred to as the "10v"?)
I haven't done much to it mod-wise, other than installing windows 7 and cutting a circle in the lid for a nice glow on the back of the screen. I plan on installing a touch screen and somehow making it a convertible tablet/netbook.

Before i do all of this, i want to ask about the battery. I have the stock battery with the bump on the bottom (so the netbook isn't flat) and it bugs the crap out of me. Is there any way to fix this? can i buy a flat battery? will it work if i order a flat one from some other mini 10 model (1010, 1012)?

It really bothers me, and I've even considered prying open the battery to see if i can get rid of the bump. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any help

I will most likely be posting questions and updates on my other mods as i get around to them.

The bump is there because the cells inside are too large to make it flat.

Maybe you've got a six-cell. If so, you can get a 3-cell, The safe ones come from walmart. Safe=probably will work. Other generic batteries have given many people problems.
