n00b post:
I deleted the SleepEnabler Kext (since it was stated to remove it)...I also noted that there were two (2) LidSleep Kexts, so I after using get info, one was updated yesterday and one that was also updated yesterday but later, (I ran NBI a couple of times to fix a sound issue I had).

I decided to run NBI again...I noticed that one updated today and the other didn't. I assumed that since one got upgraded and the other didn't it was safe to delete the older one.

So far, I have audio and sleep is working with lid closure so far...(knock on wood)

3/29 10:46

Just noticed that my battery meter did a funny thing...at 2:44 hrs left, it went to the full charged icon.

Sleep still buggy...lid closing does not work all the time...(am I naive, but will this work itself out in updating to 10.6.3?), still running 10.6.2

3/29 4:07.............................................. ..................................

Upgraded to 10.6.3....running like a top!!!! Sleep looks like it is cooperating.

THANKS MEKLORT!!!!!

Had a happy 10.6.6 machine and updated to 10.6.7, but no love...maybe I'll do a vanilla install...but probably not.

On my A90, the DSDT patch for remembering BIOS settings doesn't seem to be working. My upgrade path was 0.8.3 -> 0.8.4pre -> 0.8.4 RC1. It also imploded on itself on the first boot until I ran the recovery=y option from chameleon.

Installed 10.6 using netbootmaker, updated using 10.6.3 combo update. So far so good. Everything worked on the first try, no need to re-run NBI at any point.

Nice! Installed iLife and a couple other items now, will perform a thorough stress testing tonight and tomorrow.

Haven't really tested sleep reliability and other things as yet. 10.6.2 KP'd like there was no tomorrow with me....So hopefully this one will be a bit more stable.

Upgrade went great...patience was needed but it went very smooth.

One hiccup - my display profile is gone. Does anyone know how to restore the 0.8.3 display profile?

Thanks

Thumbs up Another Clean upgrade - 03-30-2010, 06:19 AM

I upgraded my 10v to 10.6.3 today, clean as a whistle so far.

Ran 8.4.RC1 on the machine, rebooted, ran 10.6.3 Combo upgrade, rebooted, ran RC1 again just for drill and rebooted. It sleeps, wakes, and for the first time, my Bluetooth mouse reappears promptly.

Only issue so far is Apple's - the updater re-installs a couple hundred MB of duplicate fonts, non-englitch input methods, unused architectures, and non-human languages. Font book and Monolingual take care of that pretty quickly.

Thx once again for your efforts!

Odd, I have the complete opposite problem, I have so many display profiles now!

It seems everything has doubled up, and new profiles have shown up now....who is doug? I didn't have his profiles before the upgrade lol

Either way, perhaps try re-running NBI and they'll show up back.

I performed the update by selecting "software update" and NBI ran automatically (50 min)...no issues.

I then read that the combo package was "better", so I decided to download that from the apple support site...NBI did not run automatically

WiFi and audio...ran NBI again and all is fine...no issues.

Sleep and battery meter are cooperating....still have two (2) LidSleep kexts.

Default Help! - 03-30-2010, 01:35 PM

I ran the latest version of NBI yestereday night with all of the default options on my 10.6.2 snow leopard install and NBI broke my system. I get the apple logo with the spinning thing. It does this for about 2 minutes and then I get a box with a circle with a line through it over the apple logo.

Is there any way to fix this?

You can try booting with -x, or recovery=y.
