Default PP19S Windows 8 - 01-08-2013, 06:47 PM

Not sure if 1010 is my model. PP19S/Mini 10 on the back.
It's been getting slower and slower. Formatted and reinstalled a couple of times since we bought it. Now considering upgrading to windows 8. I have heard that the overall speed is a lot faster with 8. Can I upgrade this model to 8? Any opinions regarding improved speed? Can you upgrade from an upgrade?

Many thanks!

Mark

I keep getting: "something happened" from the win 8 install.
I would like to restore the netbook to factory and then 'upgrade' from there.
But I cannot find any Dell disks. Is this something I download from Dell?

Thanks!

Mark

well it depends

1. have you deleted the restore partition on your machine?, if not you can use that otherwise

2. There is nothing you can download but if you call Dell they may sell you a restore CD, or you can buy a NEW copy of Windows 7 or 8....

Should be downloading all the drivers from the Dell site? Or just selected?
The only concern after factory restore is that I try to open an application, such as IE or Firefox, and the circle remains but nothing happens. I have to download the drive/app onto a thumbdrive and install from that in the meantime..
