Default Help: What LARGER laptops can be hackintoshed? - 05-13-2011, 09:38 PM

Hey all,

We have a dell mini 10v and it has been an excellent machine. runs osx perfectly, zero issues with it.

We now want to get our daughter a slightly larger laptop, but don't want to spend Apple money on it. Something in the 13" to 15" range. I have done tons of google searches and looked in these forums, but I can't find any mention of larger laptops that will work for this.

Ideally, we'd like to buy one from the dell outlet store or similar manufacturer so that the hardware comes with a warranty. We don't want to buy one used off craigslist, ebay, etc.

I DID consider a Chromebook, but there are no parental controls on it, which we use a lot.

Thanks for any and all help.

* Installed osx with this guide
* Fixed sound with this
* Received replacement battery on 1/28/10

Dell Latitude D620/630 can be hackintoshed, but I think you'll only find refurbs from sellers other than Dell.

I run the latest version of Snow Leopard on my Latitude E6500 quite well. A convenient installation guide can be found here:
