Hi,

Inspiron mini 1012 (not in waranty), while working only all of sudden its turned off..
When I tried it switch it on , its not getting on (No led is glowing) and more thing I found is when the charger is connected the chrger led also turning off, if disconnect the chrger then charger led is glowing,

i tried removing & replacing battery , and also tried with RAM & Hard Disk removed &replaced .. then also its not working...


Any one can help me abt this issue...

Does it do anything with the charger plugged & the battery removed? If nothing happens it is possible the charger is defective & the battery is completely discharged.

Sounds like a motherboard problem to me. I had a XPS M1330 which did the same thing. When I plugged the charger in it went dead and when I removed the plug and switched the charger off and on again the charger worked ok. It sounds like the safety short circuit in the charger worked ok. I think the problem is the motherboard and there is a short circuit there somewhere. Sounds like time to source a new motherboard on eBay.
