Default OSX Mini9 no wifi after 10.5.2 - 11-18-2009, 05:01 AM

i could not get anything else to work with my mini 9 but 10.5.2. i have a runcore 16gb ssd, and 2gb ram, but the only successful osx i got to install was kalyway 10.5.2.

but i do not have wireless and i am not sure what other drivers i am missing.

i do not have a mac.

so how do i find out what hardware is not installed? and where do i get the driver or stack to install it so osx can use it?

You have a pirated version of OS X, this is why you are having issues.

This community only supports installs using retail copies of the Apple Mac operating system, and the tools we use require 10.5.6 as a minimum. Discussion of pirated distributions is not acceptable.

If you want to install and have all functionality, I would recommend you get a retail copy of OS X and follow the guides posted here-

Guides | OS X | mechdrew

They are the best guides for Hackintoshing a Dell Mini. Installation can be done without a Mac.

I used a retail copy of the OS.

You might check your BIOS settings and be sure your WLAN is enabled.

Was the wifi working before you installed OSX?

Yes the WLAN is enabled. I went through and disabled it and re-enabled it too.
And yes, the netbook had wifi while running windows XP before.
The Netbook is exactly the same as my other one. The Wi-Fi Card and everything.
My First Mini 9 is working perfectly. So I'm at a loss as to why this one is acting funny.

what happens when you try to enable it? Do you have the "no airport card installed" message, or is the behaviour more wierd than that?

Are you using Snow Leopard? If so, I had the same issue with my MB Pro. I followed the instructions in this URL and got things working.

http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=777038

Additionally, there is now a wi-fi update for Snow Leopard available. From the brief release notes, it sounds like there is a fix for the stuck off problem. So you might want to do a Software Update. I have it on the Mini, no harm caused, just haven't really tested it yet.
