Default Overclock 1012 (PLL RTM876-660) - 02-23-2011, 11:08 PM

I found in a post that the PLL is RTM876-660,

so I tried setfsb, and it read the PLL without an error.

However if I press setfsb the laptop instantly freezes, are there any recent updates since it was discovered that this was the PLL? Any one else still trying, it would be nice to push to 1.8 or 2GHz

its STILL an Atom Processor...probably wont make much difference for most applications anyway....and not worth the time & effort either not to mention the additional heat that will be given off for a unit with no fans in it....

PS. it might void your warranty also.....the only systems I am aware of that Dell will sanction overclocking on is the Alienware line

I've tried all the RTM PLL's in SetFSB. Nothing works. Bottom line you need the proper PLL settings to get it to work. Nobody has been able to get the datasheet from Realtek yet either. As soon as we can, then the author of SetFSB can add it to his program (which requires paid registration).

However, Dell may not have left the clock unlocked and will require a hard mod. But we won't know until we get the datasheet.

The actual PLL is RTM890N-397

Why the wrong laptop? I don't understand the resistance to this. One for the pure hobby of it. And two, there's a couple games that would be nice to gain a few extra fps out of to make them playable. I know the Atom's can usually overclock like crazy anyhow. A simple mod with an improved heatsink would improve matters as well.

I remember pushing the Asus N10J with Atom N270 to 2.1GHz and it made all the difference in the world. Only reason I got rid of that rig was the screen resolution 1024x600 which drove me nuts.

The PLL is not correct, I took mine apart and each netbook has it's own unique PLL.
