Thumbs up Enable multitouch on touchpad for Mini 1012! - 03-22-2010, 04:46 AM

Found this, tried it, and it works! This driver enables multitouch on the touchpad for most laptops that use a Synaptics touchpad, of which the Dell Mini 1012 is one of.

I had to uninstall the Dell Touchpad driver, reboot, then install this one. Now two-finger scrolling and other gestures works!

This makes the touchpad bearable now. Try it :-)

What a hugely wonderful difference! It always annoyed me that I couldn't get the ancillary features you find in a touchpad (edge motion, movement constraints, touchzones, ...). Everything is working very well. Surprising that Dell didn't go with a more capable driver set than the vanilla.

Thanks for the find. Installed the new driver last night with no hassles. Something so minor but makes a huge difference.

I know this is a older thread but I just wanted to bump this up because it is a worthy find! Now my touchpad is more useable than ever. Only thing that was lost was the zoom in and out but worth the sacrifice for the other extra features!! Thanks!
