Avast.....I use that one and really like it. You could add something like Spysweeper but that would bog the netbook down too much, IMHO.
Thanks for that. Last night I got myself a portable DVD reader drive (not with writing function but I don't need that really), it's really neat and runs from USB for power.Anyways, installed XP (took ages as I kept getting the 'asms' error thing (I overcomed this by starting the installation again and changing the BIOS to boot from the DVD drive first)) and got everything running now. Got it networked to my Mac, just need to copy some files over and I think I'll be set!! Should I just connect the Mac to the Dell with an ethernet cable, will that be the quickest way?It seems snappier than Win7 so I'm glad I did it. I may dual boot Win7/XP in the future but I'll save that task for when XP is annoying me (shouldn't be too long!).Thanks again.

You won't be able to connect directly with an ethernet cable but you can do it through your network.

I'd be interested to read about the tweaks you made to XP, if you don't mind?
I posted them in another thread a week or so ago. Maybe if you search my posts? Otherwise, you can go to the website I used for much of my tweaking guidance:

I switched from Avast to Avira, which has a much much smaller footprint, and uses far less background resources.
