Angry Audio Station cutting ou... - 03-07-2011, 10:09 PM

Just wondering if anyone else's Audio Station has an issue where the sound cuts out every minute. I have to take the duo off, wait 15 secs and then put it back on for the audio to last another 30 secs or so. It's an incredibly annoying issue - and strangely even happens with headphones plugged in the ports on the back of the Station.

Also, the volume buttons on the side of it have never done anything (when the duo's docked of course), even when I hadn't uninstalled any programs - don't know if this issue is related.

Weirdly, the sound doesn't start coming out the duo's speakers - it still knows it's docked.

Don't know how long the cutting issue has occured for considering I'd never used the Audio Station before really - didn't see it as much use, but now have plugged a bigger keyboard and a mouse in the back to create a desktop style computer.

Make sure you installed the right audio station driver from dells support website. The volume buttons on the side should work like the volume buttons do on the DUO. Which seems to me like your lacking the proper driver.

The audio station has used the driver "SRS Premium Sound APO for Conexant for USB Audio" from when I got the duo.

I downloaded this driver again from Dell's duo page and that hasn't seemed to fix it

Re: Inspiron Duo docking station wont play BBC iPlayer or 4oD - Laptop Audio Forum - Laptop - Dell Community

Someone just happened to post this a couple of days ago, but I've found the fix (for any application)

Just load a website with a Flash video, right-click the video, click Settings, then UNCHECK Hardware Acceleration.

Fixes the issue completely, even for Windows Media Player etc...

No idea why tho ;D
