Default Dell Mini 9 video streaming issues . . . - 01-23-2011, 05:35 PM

Hi Everyone

I have a Dell mini 9 that I "juiced" up with 2 gigs RAM and a 120 gig SSD. It is also running Windows 7 pro. It was originally an 8 gig SSD and 1 gig RAM configuration with XP. Everything is running GREAT on it EXCEPT streaming video such as hulu videos or watching TV shows from cbs, etc. The video playback is jerky, sometimes halting and then jumping forward to catch up. The audio is fine. My other internet browsing is also fine. What can I do? I run a registry cleaner on a regular basis therefore I clean out temporary internet folders. Do I not have the right player? Or is it that the processor can't handle it? Is it too small a cache configuration? How can I increase the cache? Would love some ideas.

The problem is that the Mini 9 is fairly poor at decoding Flash video. One thing that seems to help, surprising as it may sound, is to right click on a Flash video, select Settings, and then UNcheck "Enable hardware acceleration".
