Like some others on this forum, I have had a hard time finding a compatible replacement battery for my Mini 9. Dell no longer has any in stock and two other after-market batteries I tried gave the start up "not recognized" messages, flashing lights and no-charge faults that have been complained about here.

I finally found a battery at CBK Laptop Repair in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada that worked perfectly with my Mini 9 using BIOS A04. It is the regular sized battery, so I can maintain the light weight and compact size that are the great appeal of the Mini 9.

No worries, thanks for that. I've only had my mini9 for max. 2 weeks and have been trolling the forum for all kinds of information and advice. Every day i am learning new things; upgraded the RAM, HDD, OS, installed all new drivers and last thing for me is to get a new battery. Will keep trolling!

I just bought one from intelligentbatteries.com and it works flawlessly with bios A05. They are out of Vancouver I believe and it only cost $30.

i was attempting to use a mini 9 i bought off ebay a year ago. along with a 3rd party battery that wouldnt detect. i downgraded bios to A00 using the biosflash v1.51 through usb. the flash change went through but still the battery wont charge and get the flashing orange/red lights. very frustrating. im thinking its not worth it to invest spending more money to upgrade an older laptop. it also has a 4gb ssd with tinyxp loaded but only 800 mb space available. do have an wiped clean 8gb ssd (from an older mini 9 that i cracked the screen and failed to attempt fixing) i loaded ubuntu onto that ssd. 8gb ssd seems too small to install windows xp, i tried.

i could probably sell it on ebay. surprisingly i see mini 9's still going for decent prices. mine is in good condition only the battery issue and small ssd (4gb or 8 gb). and maybe use the money to upgrade to a mini 12 possibly. for the most part the mini 9 has been sitting there collecting dust and rarely used. but if i could just fix this battery issue and get a larger ssd pretty cheap i dont mind keeping the mini 9 as a backup/travel netbook

I would be cautious about that site. It has no location information - the only hint is, as you suggest, that it might be in Canada due to the C$ in the price. But the whole web site is generic and pages such as the Terms and Conditions are blank. It's using a GoDaddy "Quick Shopping Cart" without much filled in. The only contact info is an email form.
