Default Lion (10.7) - 02-24-2011, 04:02 PM

The first developer beta was released today. I plan on testing it out once I get my copy.

Anyone have results yet?

Known Issues

- Lion requires hardware with a Core 2 Duo processor or better.
It looks like the game's over for us..

In particular, 10.7 will require a 64-bit capable processor. This leaves out the 910, 1010 and 1011 but the 1012, 1018 and Duo are still possible candidates.

Hey, that sounds really familiar.

The forums seem to have been pruned, so the old thread is now gone, but I speculated this would be the case when Lion was first being discussed. Apple needs a way to push their new 64 Bit machines.

seems so 64 bit is just a way to get all that new gui face candy working (i dunno what does it do?), still that's fine with me my mini 10v is going to blow up long before osx.6.6 proves obsolete..

Apple needs a way to push their new 64 Bit machines.

oh you cynic

Haha, true that! Here's hoping that the brave adventurers of the 32bit world will find a way to make it work!

Forget it. None of the 64-bit code will run.

Do you really have a "glowing" Apple logo on the lid?
Or is that just an expression.

No joke, I do have a glowing Apple logo in the lid

Also, holmes4 is right; there won't be 32bit support at all as of now

So if Lion ends up working on the 1018 or Duo (N450 speculation) would it even be worth it to dump my beloved 10v just to buy a new unit so I have 10.7....

I think that 10.7 would have to be soooo good that it was a game changer for me to do such a thing. It's seems good, but it's really just 10.6 with some flash and a little more usability right?
