I installed the 10.6.7 upgrade by using the Mac OS X v10.6.7 Update Combo instead of using the Software Update option.

Which way did you upgrade to 10.6.7?
I used the software update feature, so your choice sounds like the right one.

For those that are getting the problem with booting...

When you boot and use recovery=y Make sure once your back into os x and running NBI that you have the correct items checked. Also, make sure your running the correct NBI! I can't tell you how many people run the 0.8.5pre and have the KP problem that instructs you to hold the power down when trying to boot. I can't stress enough...you need the NBI 20100616212351.

Mic working:
- replace AppleHDA.kext from http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/dell...-10-6-6-a.html to Extra\mini9ext folder
- run UpdateExtra
- reboot

Everything is fine! 10.6.7 now!
I am going to try this second part-everything is working on mine except mic. Is it really necessary to run nbi after the update as well?

what NBI are you running? it has to be NBI **********51 if you're not doing that then all you are doing in cycling through safe boot loading the wrong NBI

1) download and put NBI ****51 on a usb stick this one here

2) safe boot>> transfer NBI >>run>>reboot.

if you are using NBI****51 then you have another issue.

Just signed up for this site to say thanks for all the useful info. I'm going to try and upgrade my Dell Mini 10V from 10.6.6 to 10.6.7 now. This is with Bios version A06 (just a fyi.) I'll post back with my results.

I had no problem upgrading to 10.6.7. I did have to rerun NBI after the reboot to fix my sound. Everything is working fine.

Default No luck recovering after Panic error - 03-26-2011, 12:58 AM

I did not have any luck with recovery mode after receiving the panic kernel error, so I had to revert to a rebuild. Everything is rebuilt, and it gave me something to do in between games of the NCAA last night. Guess, this will be the last time I will have to worry this, as I don't there will be too many more SL upgrades prior to Lion this summer. Thanks to all who post the very useful information on this site.

This was the 2nd painless update on my mini 9; 10.6.6 & 10.6.7 both went without a hitch using Software Update & the latest NBI.

My Dell mini 9 is 2.5 years old & still running great. The only thing I truly dislike about it is that darn misplaced apostrophe key!

Get the European keyboard, slightly smaller keys, but placed correctly! Or remap with Ukelele

I'm on 10.6.5 is there any real need for 10.6.7?.......I don't care about the app store.....
