I wish I could upgrade my mini 1012 but it is so slow it practically unusable. Wifi is practically non-existent. You replied to me once before when I asked about upgrading to Win 7 but after researching it I found that even though it would work it wouldn't solve the slowness problem. That, I found, has to do with the processor. How did you address that issue when you upgraded to Win 10?

Funny to see someone else is trying to upgrade their 1012 in 2017. I upgraded to 2gb ram and even put in a Samsung 850 evo ssd and the thing is sooo slow. All operating systems are a no go with it. I've tried Linux and Windows 7 & 10. I hate to toss it but I think I'm going to stop investing time and money into improving it. Such a shame since it's a nice small cute computer. I wish it could handle more than 2gb of ram. Maybe then it would work.

I feel the same way you do but this has never really worked well for me since I got it. It has always been slow but now it is totally unusable for going online. I kick myself for not packing it up and sending it back right after I got it. At one point I was going to give it too my neighbor's kid but she didn't even want it. Kids are too tech savvy today for this dinosaur. Thank you for letting me know that Linux wouldn't be a solution. I was thinking about using Linux Puppy but don't think I'll waste my time. The only use for it right now is another place to store my music and use the word processor.
