Default 250HHD Update - 02-16-2014, 03:58 PM

I would like to upgrade from my 160GB hard drive to a 250GB hard drive and want to know if I can port the current Windows 7 Starter over to my new drive rather than buy a new Windows 7 package?? If so, what is the process?? Thanks in advance.

You should simply be able to use a disk image copying tool that expands the partition size (or copy the disk and then expand the partition). My experience is that Windows doesn't worry about such changes and doesn't force reactivation. Many times drive makers offer expansion kits that include a USB connector for the new drive and the software.

Consider buying an SSD - you will see a big improvement in performance.

If it's slow it must be Windows!
