Hi, I bought the Dell Inspiron Mini 1018 on the job. The program, with which you need to work only supports Windows XP version. Maybe you can give a link to a tutorial on how to install this model of Windows XP.
When I try to do it yourself - keep getting an error message. It would be good to get advice from a person already bearing. Install Windows XP version of the original, of the original disk.

Hi Aidas,

There are two ways in which you can reinstall the Windows XP on this system.

1. From a Windows XP CD: For this you will need an external optical drive as the Mini system you are using doesn't have an optical drive.
2. From a bootable USB flash drive with windows XP on it.

Note: A Windows XP OEM CD is not available with this system as it was shipped with Windows 7.
As you said that you will need to use this for your office work you can check if they have an installation CD for Windows XP.

the USB flashdrive will work fine....I used this exact utility to load Win XP Pro and Windows 7 on my Mini 10 and I now dual boot both of them
you can use this utility to load any version of Windows on to a USB stick

you can also select Vista or Win 7 also just make sure you click on "bootable" then also click on "rmprepusb" to get to the second screen

after you create the USB flashdrive....make sure that you also go into the BIOS on the Mini and enable the boot options for "Legacy USB" to boot to the Flashdrive
