Hi all,

I was trying to upgrade the RAM on my 1018 with a Kingston KVR13S9S6/2.
It did not seem to work as I got the 2 beeps after powering on indicating that the ram cannot be detected. A BIOS opdate did not help either.


I assume that somehow I bought a not compatible ram. Can someone please indicate what is incorrect on the specs and which one is fine be be bought?

What I read is that the 1018 is "picky" about RAM. The recommended RAM is 1.35V, not 1.5V. For example, 2GB DDR3 PC3-12800 Unbuffered NON-ECC 1.35V upgrades for Inspiron Mini 10v (1018) Netbook, CT5626134 from Crucial.com
