Default Questions about the options. Not sure what some are. - 09-29-2009, 02:45 AM

What is the difference between double and single sided fleece? Other than the obvious, its only on one side. Can you tell the difference by looking at it? Is there any benefit to double sided?

Regarding closing type, is "foliage" a color option? Whats hook and loop?

I wanted the larger pocket on the body, but it seems like everyone gets one on the flap. Is there a benefit to this? Does the flap protect the netbook better if the pocket is on the flap?

Is the shoulder strap adjustable?

Also, right now I am looking at a Jagermeister motif. I want the orange inside and black outside. I know your webpage says to avoid contrasting colors. If I did orange outside and black inside, is it really that bad?

Finally, the most important thing is, if I get the larger pocket on the body, can you stitch a patch to the outside flap?

It's a thickness thing actually. The actual material weights per linear foot vary, and the higher the weight the thicker the material. I've considered using this as a more accurate descriptor of the lining material but I need to put together an article describing how/why these numbers matter. To answer your question directly, the single sided is thin and offers less cushion/protection at the benefit of being thinner and lighter and making for a more compact sleeve.

Foliage is, in fact, a color option. It's sort of like a Sage green but darker. It's the official base match color to the new Army camouflage. I have some color samples here: Color Samples : psyopper, tailor made tactical gear

Hook and Loop is a generic title for what is commonly known as Velcro Brand Hook and Loop Fasteners. I don't use Velcro branded hook and loop and thus am legally required to not call it "Velcro". I go into more detail about it here: Fabrics : psyopper, tailor made tactical gear

It's all a matter of preference. At the bottom of the page for the basic sleeves I talk about having the pocket on the outside flap making the sleeve "TSA Checkpoint Friendly." I suspect a number of people order this configuration for that reason. I also suspect some people like the more "technical" look of the pocket on the flap versus the more clean/minimalist look of the flap covering the pocket.

Yes, the shoulder strap is adjustable on both ends. A note about the shoulder strap that I've received comments on in the past: This is made from a 1" wide piece of webbing and does not come with a pad. The latest version does anchor the shoulder strap with common plastic "D" rings so that if you wanted to swap out with a strap from a different bag, or roll your own, doing so is quite easy.

The contrasting colors comment is more about the thread/trim color and main body color. If you had a black shell and black trim then I would use black thread and you would never notice. About black and orange, I'll recommend against it because it will turn out less Jagermeister and a whole lot Halloween. Jager's colors are more of a dark/espresso brown, green and a touch of orange. Foliage green is pretty close to Jager's green, but is a lot more muted in appearance. And unfortunately I don't have any dark/espresso brown cordura on hand, but I could look for some if you are interested.

Absolutely. I would charge $5 for doing this, which is what those generic $3, $5 and $10 options are listed on the ordering page for. When you are selecting your options, select the generic $5 option. After you hit the "check out" button there will be a space to type in a message. Let me know there that you selected the $5 option to sew on a patch and then be sure to actually mail me the patch!

Thanks for the answers, I have no questions left. I am trying to find a reasonably priced gift for myself for my birthday so I will be sending my wife your way. She can pick out the customization so it leaves some suprise, but certain things I wanted to pick out myself.

I appreciate you taking the time to thoroughly answer all my questions. It was extremely helpful.`
