Finally i decide to stay with ubuntu 10.10 on mini, runs very great i have to say the performance is awesone even on SD Card. Theres some pictures of my screen.

all works perfect,wifi,bright,sound etc.

I am sure you had to do a good bit of work to get 10.10 working like it can on the 1010. But it looks like it was worth the effort. Glad to see your work paid big dividends.

The nice thing about running your system from a SD card or a USB drive you don't have to worry about it interfering with the OS on the hard drive. And if something goes wrong and the boot mbr gets corrupted you can just reformat the SD/USB drive and reinstall a OS while still having a working OS on the hard drive. Great effort on your part. Fdalbor, i saw u have installed ubuntu 10.04, i never tested on mini 10, hows run on it??? did u use ppa repo for gma500 drivers?

10.04 and 10.10 are very similar; the only reason I stayed with 10.04 instead of going to 10.10 is 10.04 is a long term support version of Linux and will be supported for a lot longer than 10.10 will even though 10.10 is newer than 10.04.

Odd huh; but true. The support for 9.10 is about to run out in April but I will keep it installed to one of my USB drives because it works so well. 10.04 will be supported until 2013. Once the support runs out they don't make sure the GMA 500 drivers will work with the older distros.

Sometimes they do; sometimes they don't. And yes I did use the ppa repo drivers for 10.04. With all the work you have done to get 10.10 going on your 1010 I would hang on to it and just get another USB drive or SD card if you want to also run 10.04; thats the nice thing about running from external drives. good luck again, fdalbor

hola, asi es ocupe la repo PPA que esta en ubuntu wiki y reconocio absolutamente todo. Lo del brillo y uno que otro error ya estan corregidos con la repo. La reproducion de video es bastante buena, youtube, y reproductor de videos no he tenido problemas. El rendiemiento en general es bueno aun que es mejor la del 9.10. Eso si que cuando use la repo ppa no reconocio la resolucion estandar del PC, asi que utilice la repo de altervista y salio todo ok.
