Smile Dell Mini 10v stuck on Blue - 04-11-2011, 06:44 AM

Hi, I have a Dell Mini 10v That has been running OSX 10.6.3. I have been running 10.6.3 perfect for about a year. Today when I started it it went to the Dell boot screen, then the gray Apple logo with the loading circle screen, then the screen turns blue .

I haven't done any thing that would make this happen. The last time I updated the OS was a little over a year ago and was from 10.6.2 to 10.6.3 and I used the correct and most currant verison of netbook installer . I bevile it was 8.3.1 rci or somthing not sure though but it was the latest and correct one around a year ago for the 10.6.2 to 10.6.3 upgrade.

Isn't there a way to do a force boot or something? Like Recovery y? I don't think I can get into netbook installer? Because after the apple screen its just a blue screen with the mouse.

Thanks Dan I'm pretty new that this so please bare with me Basicly all I know is to never do a OS update with running the RIGHT verison of netbook installer first.

Thanks for the help!

UPDATE: I think I might have used 0.8.4 Rc1 of Netbook Installer for the old update a year ago either way I am SURE it was a correct one at the time. I just cant comfirm it cuz the netbook wont boot up.

Anyone? anyone know to recover or force boot?

I got into safe mode using -x by holding shift while booting up. Doing a Time Machine back up right now.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? Should I run Netbook Installer? Which one for 10.6.3?

Thanks Dan

If you'd like to try a current NBI, 0.8.4 rc 1 will do for 10.6.3.
If you ever intend on updating further, use this one: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/863180/NetbookInstaller%2020100616212351.app.zip
