This error simply means that the BIOS did not locate a bootable disk. Why your OS X install became unbootable, I can't say.

I put XP Pro back on it to troubleshoot and see if it fails.

I have the exact same problem!
My mini has a 16Gb SSD drive.
Operating system not found.
Is there any way of retreiving my photos off the SSD before I send it back to be repaired?

Also I don't know if this happened to anyone else but the Windows updated and when I turned it back on it could no longer find the OS.

Yes, this has happened to some. How does the SSD appear in the BIOS? What capacity?

Mine showed up some weird size like 4096 megabytes. It has worked fine for over a week since putting XP back on it.

To Holmes4: It says- Fixed HDD: STEC PATA 16GB-(PM)
HDD Size: 0MB
I'm not very computer literate, does that mean that it sees te drive but cant access it, or has my drive been whiped and is now empty?

To kd4crs: Any chance once you put XP back on you still had your files from before? Again I'm not sure about these things, when reinstalling XP does it need to be reformatted?

You have this problem. The drive may be unrecoverable and need to be replaced. This is getting scary.

jdegan, I tried seversal different boot disks and partitioning utilities and all of them reported the disk as blank with no partition. The bios was reported some screwy size like 4096 megabytes. After installing XP pro it has been fine. In fact, I am posting this on it now.
