havent really done too much yet, seems to be more responsive, really wont be able to tell until after I use it for a couple days and see how various applications respond, seems quicker on opening apps though like word etc....also had a couple of games that didnt run that run now.....my 1010 is more of a toy than anything else, got it about 2yrs and probably only used it about 30-40hrs total and its still spotless, not a single scratch or mar on it, I still have the protective sleeve that the screen came wrapped in and I use it all the time.....my big HP laptop is my main system

I plan on having the most maxed out Mini 1010 available anywhere..and I will.....

sorry to say that, but you seem to want us readers to tell you it s well spent money cause you are ashamed of the amount or...?

and then, you admit that you ve spent only 30 to 40 hours on that pc. are you a museum currator wanting to display it?

ok, I m not looking for trouble, a forum is to talk about the things we are interested in, but I think you could have bought quite a powerfull notebook or netbook (more than the 1010 I mean) for the total price...

just my 0,02

well, back in 2009 the 1010 was powerful and as far as what I spent, I didnt buy mine in an outlet either, I got it totally maxed out (at the time) for $500, whats another $160 for 2gb.....ITS ONLY MONEY, its jsut a little toy to me, my HP is the powerhouse...and there aint one on the market today that even comes close

I understand - between work and home, i have 2 desktops, 2 laptops and the netbook. the netbook is great for checking emails or watching movies when traveling.

And hey, if the new memory helped w/ games, that's great!

@jimhanseng...PM me and I will give ya the details

BTW: I have noticed that the system hibernates and recovers from hibernation in about 1/3 of the time it used to so booting and shutting down is much, much quicker...generally very happy with the RAM upgrade, still playing around but I have noticed a considerable improvement in response time since before the 2gb upgrade....

dear rrfranczak3

considering your upgrade, I would very gratefull if you shared some information.

My mini 1010 (with the 1gb ram) is slow when whatching video in you tube (video lags) and general in displaying clips (not to mention HD). I read about blaming the intel 500 VGA chipset for that. Do you see any improvement with the 2gb upgrade? It is a considerable cost to upgrade, not to mention the shipping cost to Europe with all the taxes, so I would like to know if the upgrade resolves these issues. I noticed tha you mention in your post that you see quite an improvement.

thanks in advance

Default 2gb daughterboard - 11-07-2011, 06:08 AM

Hi rrfranczak3,

I love my mini 1010 but I really need that 2gb daughterboard upgrade to continue using it. The 1 gb max might have been fine in 2009 but in (almost) 2012 it's so hard to use MS Office or even watch Youtube anymore...doing everything else is still great though. Could you please share WHERE you ordered yours from? I really need to upgrade before my next business trip in Dec! :/

Thanks!
