yeah well,I looked at the service manual and it dont look like rocket science..I will know Tuesday as that when the board should arrive...they aint too many people out here with a 2gb 1010..hoping it will speed things up...also..may upgrading to a 7200rpm drive instead if a 5400rpm drive..both being 750gb..only difference being Scorpio Blue VS..Scorpio Black..by the time I am done with this it would have run me about $650..but so what??????????...I get a kick out of people out here that that spend like $250 and expect a GOOD Mini (lol)..you get what you pay for.........what good is money once you are dead?...might as well spend it?......huh?.. I plan on having the most maxed out Mini 1010 available anywhere..and I will.....

Hi rrfranczak3,

Are you replacing the entire daughter board (which, I guess, hold both the memory and processor)?

Does it replace the processor and the memory, or just the memory?

Where did you order it from?

Default RE: Dismantling the mini 1010 - 09-19-2011, 06:23 PM

The mini is not that hard to take apart, you just need to to use extra caution removing the key board cable(ziff connection I believe they call it) and touch pad cable(both ribbion cables) loose. Pry each side of the connector very, very carefully because it will break, I know from experince. The connector will slide back in and hold the cable but the fact is it will break. I have not had any problems with mine after the 2gig daughterboard upgrade. Again just be careful.......

ya, I have had it apart before to do the hard drive upgrade, went real easy, took me literally like 5mins from start to finish......

BTW: it looks like all you did was cut & paste MY signature to yours.....

BEFORE:

PS. I even pulled my 750gb drive and put in an old 500gb drive just in case I need to update anything...I wont mess up anything working already.....
