The easiest way is to replace the Intel 6250 with the 6230 for under $30, which will give you the BT 3.0 option in place of the WiMax option. Otherwise, any external USB mini BT 2.1 dongle will work.

Scott-
I ended up getting 3 usb/bluetooth transceivers from flea bay for 9 bucks shipped-They work great! I also got a bluetooth OBD2 adaptor to hook up to my car to read the pcm data which also works great! So far this 11z has worked flawless -Fast processor and good battery life compared to the mini 9s and mini 10s I had used in the past.

I'm having issues as well with the bluetooth side of the 6230 card.
I was using a USB bluetooth adapter and it worked perfect with my iPhone to stream music.
With the 6230 once I finally got it to recognize my iPhone, and stream music, it does everything on a 3-5 second delay. Even pause/unpause or volume up/down.

With USB bluetooth there was no delay at all. One difference I noticed with the USB bluetooth was that when a song played it opened a mini-player in the right corner. With the 6230 I could never get this mini-player to appear. All controls had to be done from the iPhone itself.

Anyone know the proper drivers/software to get the bluetooth side of the 6230 chip working seemlessly on the 11z?

I reverted back to the stock broadcom wifi card and bought a 365 BT dell chip off eBay for £8.

Works fine now. The 6230 chip is for 64 bit OS and I can't be arsed to reinstall windows 7 to 64 bit!

I am using Windows 7, 64-bit and the 6230 network card is just straight up buggy when it comes to bluetooth use. I've seen many complaints about it on the Google searches I've made over the last few days.

I've reverted to my 6300 network card (the 6300 is kind of a waste too cause you need three antenna wires to get to 450mbps and 11z only has two) but am curious about the Dell Wireless 365 Bluetooth module you've installed. Where did you place it/install it inside your 11z?

It has a place ready for it mate bottom left of netbook. Tiny port to plug it in. Tiny chip too! Switches on and off with the bios and the dell program as well

Is there a way of disabling the Bluetooth side of the 6230? I could use it in another laptop if it didn't kept doing a USB error all the time!

I don't see the slot to plug it in. Sounds like you have the 1110 version of the 11z while I have the 1121 version of it.

I ordered the Dell Bluetooth 370 chip and will place it in the PCIe slot that the WWAN card was in. Hopefully it works.

Not sure if you can disable the Bluetooth aspect of the 6230 chip but you can definitely not install drivers for it and turn it off as a running process.
