Default WD Hard Drive - 08-27-2009, 04:41 PM

I see from your pics you have a Western Digital HD in there. Did the 11z actually come with that? Usually the Hard drives dell throws in the notebooks/netbooks is junk.

Nevermind, I forgot I own one and checked the device manager. Sure enough, comes with a Western Digital. That's pretty awesome. I was planning on replacing it due to the fact that almost all the Dell laptops/netbooks I work on have bad Hard drives. If you're interested, here's the specs on the one that comes in it:
Newegg.com - Western Digital Scorpio Blue WD2500BEVT 250GB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache 2.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Internal Notebook Hard Drive - Laptop Hard Drives

Does anyone have comparing pictures of the Mini 10/10v to the 11z? I know the size differences, but I would like to see the two side by side to see how much bigger the 11z really. Thank you in advance!

Are there antennas for it? And how about the SIM card slot on the battery bay?

Granted this 11z is being sent back. The LCD flickers while plugged in. I got this today and already have to send it back. The screen flickers while it is is plugged in.. even while in the bios. Sucks for me. I do like the form factor and the usabillity of it, though. I didnt think it would be this large.. but for couple hrs I have used it.. its nice. The keyboard is very usable and the screen is excellent.

rip

My HD is 0.1 less than yours (5.5) but so is my CPU(2.8). I imagine the HD is slower because yours is an SSD. The CPU is probably slower because I have less RAM, slower RAM timings, or the SSD hard drive helps. Either way, my gaming graphics is only at a 3.5 vs your 4.9! I wonder if that's because of the 4GB of RAM. I imagine the onboard graphics shares the RAM with the CPU. Could be that it allocated more for it? Anyone have any ideas why mine is so much lower?

As I stated, I got my graphics drivers off intels website instead of Windows Update. This might have something to do with it but since mine are a newer driver, I highly doubt it. Anyone with Win 7 64-bit post what theirs got?

----EDIT-----
Can't be slower RAM timings. Mine are 6-6-6-18 @ 800mhz too. That's what the stock stick is. I am planning on throwing a lower latency one in there. Still 2GB but lower latencies should help. It's less than $30 on newegg.
