Default ilife 09 question ----> not about resolution - 12-06-2009, 04:57 PM

i have loaded up ilife on my 10v and was wondering if my experience is typical.

Garage band takes about 1.5 min to load up.

is this normal, i have an inkling that my 120gb hard drive is slower than sh!p.

thx.

btw im running 10.6.2

Default re speed - 12-06-2009, 08:26 PM

Microsoft 2008 entourage seems to take about 30 seconds to start up.

If your running either

microsoft 2008

or

Garage band 09

Tell me what kind of load times your getting.

Garage band takes about 10-15 seconds from clicking the icon for me. It goes through an initialization process.

Default thx - 12-06-2009, 09:14 PM

Thanks for the info.

I had the hard drive that is in my 10v in another laptop last year and the install times were slooow, now this pretty much confirms it.

Time for a new drive, i think i saw a 500gb 7200 drive on sale on new egg.

Funny, i bought my 10v off craigslist for $200 and i thought i would be a cheap process..

Now a new external dvdrw drive, 16gb thumb drive, external enclosure adapter, snow leopard upgrade disk, and now a new hard drive..

My $200 hackintosh has cost me about $400+

its been fun though.
