compiz issues -

is there any way to get the cube effects with compiz on ubuntu 8.1? i only have 2 desktops. also it is difficult making choices in the settings manager.

Yeah, right click the workspaces in the lower right hand corner and click preferences. Change columns to four.
You can also change it in Compiz Settings Manager. Under General, click the Desktop Size tab and change Horizontal Virtual Size to 4. Did you turn on Desktop Cube in Compiz Settings Manager?

i did, it has been giving me problems. when i have the settings manager open, it is as if my mouse isnt calibrated. when my mouse is over one icon it opens another.

I have noticed that too, but only if the screen is maximized.

ive switched to advanced mode and it seems to be working alot better. almost setup, just cant figure out how to get my cube tilted with a reflection under it.

By default, hold down Ctrl+Alt and the left mouse button and move along the trackpad. Make sure you have Rotate Cube turned on in Compiz Settings Manage. To get the reflection make sure Cube Reflection and Deformation is turned on.
