Default Tips for maximising the battery ? - 08-29-2010, 03:22 PM

Hi

I've just got a 2nd hand Dell Mini 1012, do any of you more experienced 1012'ers have any tips to get more longevity from the battery. I've read a few threads and some people say to put it in 'power saver' mode but I don't seem to have that option. Mine is currently on the portable/laptop configuration. I use it mostly for surfing the web and watching movies.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Marcus

I would suggest lowering the brightness on the screen,

Dell Inspiron Mini 1012 2mb RAM
Dell Inspiron E1505 - died a noble death
Dell Inspiron 17R - I hammered the kb with fist, killed it.
Motorola Droid X2 - gave to niece who gave it to her 3 year old. crap.
lotsa new stuff

Ok - references to "Power Saver" are most likely intended for Windows 7.

Keeping the screen brightness low, turning off WiFi if you're not using it and disabling any background tasks (such as virus scans) can help.
