Default How to rename kext files? - 10-11-2011, 08:23 PM

I'm working on fixing an issue on my dell mini 9. I'm running OS X 10.6.7 and have sleep/mic/camera/speakers working great but the speakers don't come back up after waking from sleep. Only a restart fixes this. There was a post where someone with the same configuration as me made a change and said everything now works from him and one of the steps state "rename AppleHDA.kext in /Extra directory to AppleHDA.kext.bak"

Mac OS X is pretty new to me and I don't know how to rename a kext file in the system. Help!

Thanks in advance
