Hi, my brother in law just killed my sister's 1012 somehow. According to him, this is what happened:

"I was just turning on the computer on battery power, went past the Dell logo, it asked me something about something with system, I pressed enter, and then it gave me a blue screen with white letters and the screen went black, now it won't turn on anymore"

I am aware it could be HDD, RAM, Video card, or pretty much anything, but this is the weird thing, when I try to turn it on, it just won't do anything, the Power LED comes up, then the HDD LED comes on and stays on for say 3-5 seconds, then goes off, and nothing else ever happens, no Dell screen, nothing at all, Power LED still on.

I plug the charger in, and up comes the charging light, so I know it's not a power issue (at least not a charging one).

Anyone ever saw something like this happen before?

Any suggestions?

It's the Windows 7 Starter model.

So. I used another memory sim, all fixed. Seems the Ram just busted. Thank you all for all the help you gave me. It was priceless.
