Default Trying to install xp sp3 on new 11z - 08-20-2010, 03:15 PM

Hi, i read and followed the thread on installing XP, thanks for the post. After finally getting the usb hdd to load correctly and thru formatting the new partition and i get an error that says "Setup has determined that drive C: is corrupt and cannot be repaired. Setup cannot continue". I thought the 250 gig HDD was too big so i created a 40gig partition same result. Please help.

hi, im afraid that you could not format your disk by an external usb hdd. you should partition the disk first.

Give me some background here. Did the 11z initally have vista on it and you want to put XP on it now? Do you want to use the entire drive for XP? Are you just upgrading the hard drive and need to reload it? Do you have a external USB optical drive available?

I have the same problem with my dell mini 9 which had snow leopard on it. I am trying to use a partitioned WD Passpord drive.
