You don't want to drop your laptop, but it's pretty tolerant of normal handling when running. I don't know if there is a drop sensor in these machines or not though. Pretty commonplace these days.

Or just get an SSD and have 100% solid state. No moving parts whatsoever (and no fan which is remarkable).
