Yeah I wouldn't buy any XP licenses since XP was supposed to be dead years ago.
Wait for the Windows 7 or go open source if you are taking the legal routes.

better yet, don't run it on your mac. i've tried parallels, etc, and wasn't very happy with the virtual machines. i've been using crossover from codeweavers for over a year, and have been very happy with it.
first of all, it's only $40. second: no networking hassles, as with the vm's. third: uses less system resources. macbook is more responsive, and fan comes on less, etc. i'm not quite confident enough to make the security issue, but if you don't run winbloze browsers, etc, you should be fine.
if you go this route, that's one less license to deal with.
