Default "soft" preamp? - 06-19-2009, 07:24 AM

so i was flying to Chicago, and using my mini as a "dvd" player, and one of the files loaded up in winamp
now with the noise canceling headphones, everythings a bit quieter, and we all know how loud the volume is on the mini 9
thats when i realized that winamp could up the volume with the "preamp" and made it great!
the volume of the video was lower, so it didnt end up clipping or anything
is there a program that will do this same kinda thing to other media files or standard windows sounds?

Mini 9: Black, WinXP, 2GB GSkill RAM, 16GB STEC SSD, Intel 5300 a/b/g/n, BlueTooth, 8 cell battery (11hr runtime)

VLC media player also has the capability of increasing the volume to 200%, so make the tiny shy speaker of my Mini 12 sounds louder.
