I have been trying to install windows XP on my dell mini 9 and I followed two different methods (using BartPE as well as external optical drive) and have the same problem. Installer doesn't think that the pc is ACPI capable and so installs it as "Standard PC" instead of "ACPI Uniprocessor PC". I first thought something is going wrong with my nLited installer, but I even tried the original installer with only the Sp3 slipstreaming done and still have the same problem. I would appreciate any help in understanding what is going wrong with this.

PS: I had a successful install of ubuntu netbook remix and everything works perfectly, so I don't believe there is a hardware/bios problem.

You might try an SP2 streamlined XP, then add SP3 later if that works.

Youve probably done as i did and stripped out multi processor support using nlite
I did this whilst following nlite instructions on someones blog and had exactly the same issue with XP trying to install as standard pc

That could explain what was happening. However, I have since then gave another attempt at hackintosh and got success, so not looking forward to installing XP. I shall keep this in mind in case I change my mind. Thank you.
