Hi to all!!!
My name's marco and i'm italian!
In italy dell sell only the dell mini 9 without windows xp, only with 8gig ssd and linux ubuntu...
I've bought a xp oem license to install on my mini but it's not optimized for this system... and then i've called the dell's commercial but they don't give me the original recovery disc of the delll mini 9 because in italy they don't sell it :evil:

Where i can find this recovery disc??

I'm not sure that you need the Dell XP CD. The drivers can be downloaded from the Dell website. I don't think there's anything special about the XP setup. I used nLite to slim down XP, although I did start with Dell's CD, and installed that right away when I got my Mini.

Perhaps another opinion might be more informed, though.

Indeed, you can install other versions of Windows XP on the Mini 9.

I've installed standard Home and Pro editions no problem.

Agreed, all required XP drivers are available for download at Dells website (and for Vista, you better check Intels website as well). Installed XP Pro and Vista without touching the Dell CDs.

just go for any XP, drivers are all at Dells website and then there is a thread here about some tips on optmzing the system.
that tells some services to disable, etc....
