Slow shutdown times - 04-02-2009, 03:39 AM
So I recently reinstalled XP off the OEM disk that came with my Mini (after installing Ubuntu for a couple of days to play with it,which overwritten the default XP install thats been there for like 6 months).
However,I optimized the install by cutting down on the startup programs, disabled some services, and set it the appearence to "performance",just to see what I could do about cutting boot times.
Well,it only takes around 35-40 seconds to boot from hitting the power button, till my wireless connects to my home network. However,it also takes around 30 seconds from the time I hit OK on the shutdown menu, until the power light actually shuts off. Which is ridiculous, seeing as I have a pretty nice boot time accompanied with a pretty slow boot time.
Any ideas as to what could cause a slow shutdown time?
