Default F11 workaround for IE - 10-23-2008, 09:51 AM

Hi all,

with the small screen on eeePC's I've been used to using F11 to go full screen with IE7, anyone got a good workaround?

I don't plan to remap lots of keys as in other forums but just need F11

Cheers

I used SharpKeys http://www.randyrants.com/2006/07/sharpkeys_211.html to remap F10 to F11. I don't really use F10 for anything, so this was a good switch for me. You could swap any key and make it F11.

Alt-Enter. No remap necessary.

Nope, sorry doesn't work for me, anything special about your setup? I'm actually using XP Pro/IE7.

SharpKeys looking like a good workaround for me as rarely use F10

It works on every PC I own and use. My Mini also has XP Pro and IE7. It is a very common key combination for full screen with Microsoft applications.

ummmm... how about 'Tools' > 'Full Screen" ?????

Am I missing something here? Does everyone not realize you don't need an F11 key to go full screen? It's in the tools drop down menu.

Yea, I didn't realize that. That's 'cause it isn't in my Tools menu. Works OK from the View menu, though. Just do <Alt>v to drop the View menu from full screen Mode to return to normal window.

<Alt><Enter> does nothing on my Mini 9 or my desktop PC.

The A02 BIOS supposedly makes Fn-z a macro for F11. Maybe you want to look into that?
