Default rosetta stone language software - 02-16-2009, 01:56 PM

has anyone tried to load up a rosetta stone program? one of the reasons I wanted a mini 9 was to be able to do a language lesson (trying to learn german) pretty much whenever I had a free moment.
if anyone has tried, please let me know of how it works...or if it would even be worth the effort to try to install it on this machine. I really appreciate your help!

I just loaded my Japanese RS. Works fine, including speech recognition using their USB headset (need to remove it after the driver installs and reinsert to have it fully recognized.) You'll need about a gig of drive space for the software and one level.

I've also used Rosetta Stone on my Mini for Hebrew and German, and it runs fine. If you don't have the hard drive space, it'll also run off a flash drive just fine. It takes awhile to load up each language level, but I didn't notice any lag while using the software once loaded.

thanks for the info!
I was also wondering if you used an external cd-rom to load it onto the mini or if you were able to copy it on there in another way?
I've got the rosetta cd running in my desktop (currently don't own an external cd-rom), but I've got a big enough thumbnail drive if a copy and paste type situation would be possible? I appreciate all your help
